About the CELEHS Undergraduate Research Award on Translational Data Science:

The Translational Data Science Center for a Learning Health System CELEHS at Harvard Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School is a research center that focuses on translational biomedical data science. CELEHS researchers aim to develop analytical and predictive tools that leverage biomedical data to improve the efficiency and accuracy of healthcare delivery. CELEHS research observerships/internships provide advanced academic experiences in and outside of the classroom by creating and expanding opportunities for students to work closely with faculty members, postdocs, affiliated institutions, and hospitals on translational health data science projects.

The CELEHS Undergraduate Research Award on Translational Data Science recipients should demonstrate autonomy in developing, directing, and preparing research project(s). The proposal should demonstrate a strong connection to Translational Biomedical Data Science. This award will be given to a Harvard undergraduate who has worked or will work with CELEHS on translational data science research either part-time during a semester or for full-time 8 weeks in the summer. CELEHS will provide funding up to $4000 per project in support of student-initiated, independent scholarly research or creative endeavors undertaken with the guidance of a Harvard-affiliated faculty mentor in Biomedical Data Science.

Review Process and Award Notification:

Professor and CELEHS Director Tianxi Cai and her team will review applications. Awardees will be notified in a timely fashion via email.
